Rayan Philippe joins SC Paderborn on loan
The 25-year-old Frenchman is temporarily leaving Hamburger SV and will spend the 2026/27 season with the newly promoted Bundesliga side from East Westphalia.
Departure from the HSV squad: The Rothosen have loaned Rayan Philippe to newly promoted Bundesliga side SC Paderborn for the 2026/27 season.
“We are well aware of Rayan’s abilities. He had a good pre-season and also demonstrated his qualities in our friendly matches. Recent changes to our squad have altered his situation at short notice, which is why he expressed his desire for more playing time. An opportunity has now arisen with SC Paderborn that works for all parties. It was important to us that he can continue to develop and test himself at the highest possible level. We wish Rayan all the best for his loan spell and will of course continue to follow his development,” explains HSV Director of Sport Claus Costa.
The 25-year-old Frenchman joined the Rothosen from Eintracht Braunschweig last summer and scored five goals in 33 competitive appearances for the club. Most recently, the left-footer came off the bench in the DFB-Pokal away win in Verl (3-0) and the Bundesliga defeat in Dortmund (0-2). Philippe will be reunited with HSV as early as Matchday 7, when the Rothosen travel to Paderborn.
