Storm and Glory: HSV’s special-edition shirt to mark 1,887 Bundesliga games

To celebrate 1,887 Bundesliga matches, Hamburger SV have released a striking special-edition shirt. Under the motto “Sturm und Glanz” (Storm and Glory), the jersey pays tribute to the club’s golden, glory-filled moments as well as the tougher, more turbulent spells – and the powerful identity that has always defined HSV. The design traces the journey through those 1,887 top-flight games and brings together the proud heritage of a Bundesliga founding member with the energy of a club back in the league in 2025/26.

The shirt comes in white with bold blue horizontal bands and a dark-red crew neck. Gold detailing runs throughout, including the “1887” print on the back of the neck, the adidas shoulder stripes and the gold finish on the names, numbers and sponsor. Dark-red shorts and dark-blue socks, both with matching gold accents, complete the look. The shirt was developed together with adidas and 11teamsports, and a white DFL sleeve badge can be added on request.

And there’s more: to mark this milestone – HSV are only the seventh Bundesliga club to reach a total number of top-flight games that matches the year the club was founded – the shirt is also available with a special “1887” print. The number 1887 features the names of all 465 players who have represented HSV in the Bundesliga. Underneath the number, the words “Bundesliga games” are also included.
