Success for players on international duty

The HSV players on international duty have managed to record four wins, one draw and one defeat, so far in this international break.

The international break is now well underway. Eight HSV players have made international appearances so far, after Orel Mangala managed a 1-0 win with Belgium U21s against Italy U21s on Thursday night. Hee-chan Hwang and the South Korean national team defeated Uruguay 2-1 in a friendly, with the winger playing 78 minutes for Paulo Bento’s team.

Rick van Drongelen was also successful with The Netherlands U21s, winning 3-0 against Latvia in a U21 European Chmapionship qualifier with Van Drongelen playing the full 90 minutes. Defensive partner David Bates was not so successful in his U21 qualifier with Scotland as he lost 3-1 against Ukraine as Bates also played the full game.

Manuel Wintzheimer was named in the starting XI for Germany U20s in their game against The Netherlands in Meppen. The game ended 1-1, with the forward playing 75 minutes. Fiete Arp, Jonas David, Tobias Knost and Josha Vagnoman all took part in Germany U19s training session in Cyprus. The U19s played two games back to back, winning the first 3-0 against Aris Limassol and the second 5-1 against Apollon Limassol. All four HSV players made at least one appearance but none of them managed to score a goal. The U19 players will return to Hamburg on Monday, while the rest of the international players have more games next week.
