Summer schedule update: Third training camp and more friendlies

As they did last year, the Rothosen will hold a training camp at the adidas Home Ground as part of their pre-season preparations. Friendlies against 1. FC Heidenheim and Toulouse FC have also been confirmed.

After beginning their preparations for the 2026/27 season in Helsingør, Denmark, and holding their first training sessions at the Volksparkstadion, the Rothosen will travel to Vienna for their opening friendly of the summer against SK Rapid on Saturday, 18th July (19:00 CEST). The team will then continue to Oberlängenfeld in Austria, where they will be based at the Aqua Dome hotel for their second training camp of pre-season. HSV will spend seven days working intensively ahead of the new Bundesliga campaign, with the camp concluding with a friendly against relegated Bundesliga side 1. FC Heidenheim at the Stadion Melach Road in Kematen on 25th July (13:30 CEST, tickets here).

The next highlight for HSV supporters will follow shortly after the team return to Hamburg. The Volksparkfestival presented by EDEKA on 1st August marks the club's official season launch, featuring friendlies against historic English club Everton from 13:00 CEST for both HSV’s women’s and men’s teams (tickets here).

Fine-tuning at the adidas Home Ground

The Rothosen will then head back on the road for another training camp at the adidas Home Ground in Herzogenaurach from 3rd to 7th August. The modern training complex run by HSV’s kit supplier provided ideal conditions for the team’s pre-season preparations last year. With 15 bungalows, professional meeting, tactical and learning facilities, as well as a wide range of training options, the adidas Home Ground will once again give HSV everything they need to focus on the finer details during this crucial stage of pre-season.

Before HSV begin their competitive campaign away to third-tier SC Verl in the first round of the DFB-Pokal on 24th August, there will be one final trip. The Rothosen will travel to the south of France to face Toulouse FC, who finished ninth in Ligue 1 last season, in their final pre-season friendly on 15th August (19:00 CEST, tickets here).
