Ten Rothosen players on international duty

David Bates represents Scotland while nine other HSV players will represent their respective countries at youth level.

Hannes Wolf will lead his side for their first training session of the week on Tuesday, knowing he will be missing several players who will be out on international duty. David Bates is the only Rothosen player who will represent his country’s senior side as Scotland begin their UEFA EURO 2020 qualifying campaign away against Kazakhstan in Astana on Thursday, 21st March (16:00 CET). The ‘Bravehearts’ will also face San Marino away from home on Sunday, 24th March.

Orel Mangala will represent Belgium U21s in their friendly against Denmark on Wednesday, 20th March (18:30 CET) while Vasilije Janjicic has been called up to the Switzerland U21s squad to face Croatia (22nd March) and Italy (25th March). Rick van Drongelen and the Netherlands U21s side face the United States (24th March) and Egypt (26th March). Meanwhile, Berkay Özcan will hope to feature for Turkey U21s as they face Albania in a crucial qualifier for this summer’s European Championship.

Manuel Wintzheimer and Mats Köhlert have both been called up to the Germany U20s squad as they face Portugal (22nd March) and Poland (26th March). Meanwhile, Fiete Arp and Jonas David are part of the Germany U19s squad for their second round qualifiers for the U19s European Championships. The team have three matches against Croatia (20th March), Norway (23rd March) and Hungary (26th March) respectively. Lastly, Tatsuya Ito will travel to Myanmar with the Japan U22s team to take on Macau (22nd March), East Timor (24th March) and hosts Myanmar (26th March). Hee-chan Hwang has withdrawn from the South Korea squad due to a muscle injury.
