Tobias Knost to turn pro and extends to 2020

The 17-year-old’s previous contract has been extended by one year and will become a professional deal next summer.

HSV’s youth talents continue to blossom, with 17-year-old Tobias Knost the next youngster to agree an early contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2020. His current deal will also become a professional contract from 1st July 2018. “Tobias is developing superbly and is a key player in the U19s. He has also demonstrated his potential and dynamism during training and in friendlies with the first team,” said sporting director Jens Todt about Knost, who joined HSV from TeBe Berlin in summer 2014 and has worked his way through the youth system.

Knost usually plays at right back with the U19s, who currently lead the way in the U19 Bundesliga Nord/Nordost chapter, but is also capable of playing in central defence. He has played 90 minutes in friendlies against Strand 06, SV Rugenbergen and Curslack-Neuengamme in recent international breaks under the watchful eye of Markus Gisdol.
