Two friendlies: The HSV schedule for this week

The Bundesliga season may have ended at the weekend with HSV maintaining top flight status, but the players are not quite ready to go on their holidays just yet because they have two friendly matches to play this week before they can finally relax and recover.

What a heart-stopping finale! The Rothosen beat VfL Wolfsburg 2-1 at the sold out Volksparkstadion in Hamburg on Saturday afternoon, and in doing so maintained the proud record of being the only club never to have been relegated from the top flight. The 88th minute winning goal by Luca Waldschmidt lifted the roof off the stadium as HSV ended the season in 14th place. Head coach Markus Gisdol may have given his men Monday (22.05) and Tuesday (23.05) off  but the players have two friendly games to play before they head off to sunnier climbs.

HSV to play  TSV Büsum and MTV Leck

On Wednesday (24.05) the Rothosen visit lower league outfit TSV Büsum as part of the hosts’s 125 year celebration. That game at the Rosengrund stadium kicks off at 7.00 PM.

On Thursday (25.05) HSV visit another lower league side MTV Leck for the final game before the summer break. That game at the Nordfrieslandstadion kicks off at 1.00 PM.

After that the players and coaching staff will enjoy their summer holidays before reporting back to training on July 6 at the Volksparkstadion.
