Upbeat start to the training week

Nicolai Müller completes a part of team training. Christian Mathenia and Tatsuya Ito were unable to complete training, so Lewis Holtby ended up in goal.

The boys started their preparations on the training pitch for the tricky away fixture against Hoffenheim, with the game taking place this Sunday at 15:30 CEST. Christian Titz lined up a number of drills to work on the team’s attacking play. The weather was impeccable for the entire session, which culminated in a 5-a-side tournament of four teams. Tatsuya Ito and Christian Mathenia had to sit the end of the session after a coming together, meaning that Lewis Holtby ended up in goal.

Neither Bjarne Thoelke (groin) or Sven Schipplock (muscle problems) took part in team training, while Kyriakos Papadopoulos also had to miss the session due to a cold. Bakery Jatta, Vasilije Janjicic and Mohamed Gouaida all trained with the U21s, as they prepare for their rearranged fixture on Wednesday 11th April at 18:15 CEST against Weiche Flensburg. Nicola Müller was also back out on the training pitch completing a part of team training before he followed the rest of his individual rehabilitation programme with coach Sebastian Capel.
