Vasilije Janjicic moves to FC Zürich

After three years at HSV, the 20-year-old midfielder re-joins his hometown club, who he left in 2016 to move to Hamburg.

Vasilije Janjicic has ended his time in Hamburg and has moved to FC Zürich in Switzerland. The 20-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year contract with the Raiffeisen Super League team. Janjicic passed his medical yesterday afternoon, meaning that he was free to sign on the dotted line to bring him back to his hometown club. Janjicic signed from FC Zürich in August 2016, playing 38 games in all for HSV’s first team during his time in Hamburg. The former Swiss youth international player was not included in Dieter Hecking’s plans for the season, meaning that a return to the club where Janjicic grew up was possible. “Vasilije Janjicic always behaved in an exemplary manner, despite the difficult situation he found himself in here, therefore it is nice that we were able to find a solution that suited all sides,” were HSV Head of Sport Jonas Boldt’s departing words for Janjicic. “We wish Vasi all the best for the future at his hometown club.”
