Successful start on international duty for HSV’s call-ups

Norway U19 likely couldn’t have imagined a better start to the UEFA mini-tournament than their thumping 4-0 opening victory over Kosovo. The tournament consists of three matches over the course of a week, and from a Hamburger SV perspective, last night’s game was a particularly exciting start, with Alexander Rössing Lelesiit netting an impressive brace to kick off Norway’s trio of games with a victory. There was more joy from Rothosen in the same group – Otto Stange, currently out on loan at SV Elversberg, opened the scoring in Germany’s 7-0 thrashing of Armenia, with HSV keeper Fernando Dickes also in the U19 squad.

More Hamburger SV players are set to be involved in international fixtures on Thursday evening. Luka Vuskovic has been named in the Croatia squad for a pair of World Cup qualifying fixtures against Czechia and Gibraltar, before joining up with his country’s U21 side as they prepare to face Ukraine in a EUROs qualifier on Tuesday. Over the next few days, there will also be opportunities for Miro Muheim (Switzerland), Giorgi Gocholeishvili (Georgia), Daniel Peretz (Israel) and Fabio Balde (Portugal U21) to make their mark for their national teams.
