Our motto therefore is “CREATE AN IMPACT”, and the driving force behind the HSV Campus is to develop players who will make an impact on our game at the Volksparkstadion.
Rooted in the Volkspark and at home in the north, we work with passion and conviction on the personal and sporting development of our players. A key component of HSV’s youth development programme is the very close integration of the youth teams with the professional departments.
This close integration between the youth and professional sectors is evident, for example, in the careers of the current HSV coaches: Merlin Polzin, Loïc Favé and Richard Krohn have all previously worked at HSV’s academy.
HAMBURG WÄCHST is based on the conviction that children can get active anywhere – in school playgrounds, in sports clubs, in parks and in everyday life. At the same time, the reality is that children’s football in Hamburg is a question of opportunity. Because whilst 20 children are playing football, another four are standing by and watching.
In Hamburg, over 8,000 children are on waiting lists because they want to join a club – but are unable to do so for structural or staffing reasons. This is exactly where we come in.
As HSV, we are taking responsibility and creating the conditions to ensure that more children have access to physical activity, play and development – regardless of any current obstacles. Our aim is to open up and create new playing fields, both literally and figuratively.

Hamburger SV is committed to developing young, talented goalkeepers for its own professional team. This is the central goal of HSV’s goalkeeper training program. To ensure this vision succeeds and that HSV consistently develops goalkeepers for the top leagues, there is a clear concept serving as the foundation of the training program.
The HSV goalkeeping philosophy consists of various components, such as goal defense, one-on-one situations, zone defense, and offensive play. The following criteria are of particular importance:

In addition, goalkeepers receive individualized coaching from experienced goalkeeper coaches based on their age. The HSV goalkeeper team places great emphasis on building close personal relationships. The shared goal is to provide goalkeepers with the best possible support—both on and off the field—in meeting their current challenges and fostering their personal development, so that they are optimally prepared for their future development goals and professional careers.
Sven Höh (Head of Goalkeeping & Professional Goalkeeper Coach), Tino Dehmelt (Campus), and Hannes Neitzel (Norderstedt) are responsible for implementing the program’s content, coordinating the various age groups and locations, and managing the day-to-day organizational aspects.
