The maximum sensitivity and empathy to protect our players and all the children and young people who are part of the HSV family.
The youth teams from the U12s to the U19s are trained at Hamburger SV’s youth academy. HSV Fußball AG & Co.KGaA and the HSV Foundation also offer a wide range of leisure and educational activities for children and young people. We have set ourselves the goal of dedicating ourselves, with the utmost sensitivity and empathy, to the protection of our players – the majority of whom are minors – and the children and young people in our care, thereby creating the conditions for the most comprehensive protection possible. Together, we work every day to ensure that our players and the children and young people in our care can feel protected and move about freely in an environment tailored to their needs, thanks to the efforts of our team coaches, supervisors, educators, physiotherapists, the Media and Communications department, and all other staff members. Across all departments, our actions are underpinned by a supportive and cooperative approach in the best interests of the children and young people. Our staff members are made aware of the importance of preventing sexualised violence through further training and our youth teams take part in workshops on topics including anti-doping, anti-racism, the prevention of match-fixing and betting manipulation and media use.

Should an incident of any kind occur despite our comprehensive preventative measures, our internal guidelines – based on the principle of ‘child protection over perpetrator protection’ – come into effect. Under these guidelines, we provide support tailored to individual needs and endeavour to investigate the incident professionally and transparently.
HSV Fußball AG & Co.KGaA has appointed both an internal and an external point of contact to deal with this matter in a confidential manner. As regards the external point of contact, HSV officially launched a partnership with Kindernothilfe e.V. in July 2025. Further information are available here.
