New year, time to prepare for the second half of the season

Head coach Tim Walter and his team signed off before Christmas with an important 2-0 away win at 1. FC Nürnberg. With the festive season now over, the hard work for the HSV players begins with the resumption of training and the training camp in Spain.

The team will complete performance tests on 2nd and 3rd January at the Volkspark, before heading to the south of Spain on 4th January. The club will be based at the “SO” Hotel in Sotogrande until 12th January and will train there too. Two friendlies are planned to be played during the stay in Spain, with the first one already scheduled. HSV will play Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven on Sunday, 7th January. The Dutch side are set to face Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League in February, so it will be a tough test for Walter’s men as they look to prepare well for a crucial second half of the season.
