HSV begin pre-season with friendlies against Elstorf and Oldenburg

The Rothosen will undertake their first friendly fixtures of this summer’s pre-season preparations during the opening weekend in July. They will clash with seventh-division TSV Elstorf (5th July) before facing fourth-tier side VfB Oldenburg (6th July).

The first friendly fixtures for HSV ahead of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season are in the diary. The Rothosen will travel to face seventh-tier outfit TSV Elstorf on Saturday, 5th July (kick-off 13:30 CEST) before then playing fourth-division VfB Oldenburg on Sunday, 6th July (kick-off 13:30 CEST).

This time period will also coincide with the first week of training for Merlin Polzin and his squad, which officially begins on Wednesday, 2nd July, at the Volksparkstadion. On the two days prior (30th June and 1st July) obligatory performance diagnostics will be carried out at the HSV campus as well as the UKE Athleticum, during which the players will undergo cardiac and renal examinations.
