Four HSV players away on international duty
Miro Muheim, Immanuel Pherai, Adam Karabec and Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit have been selected to represent their national teams.
The summer break has only lasted about two weeks from HSV’s perspective, yet for some die-hard fans, it already feels too long. The anticipation for the club’s return to the Bundesliga and the 2025/26 Rothosen squad is huge – and today, at least, the first new signing arrived in the form of midfielder Nicolai Remberg. Aside from transfer news, which usually dominates the summer months, there is still some football going on. After the relegation play-offs and the finals of the DFB-Pokal, Europa League and most recently the Champions League were played, hundreds of players around the world are now back their national sides. While the German national team, coached by Julian Nagelsmann, face Portugal on Wednesday in a UEFA Nations League semi-final, four Rothosen players will also be on international duty: namely, Miro Muheim (pictured above, Switzerland), Immanuel Pherai (Suriname), Adam Karabec (Czechia U21) and Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit (Norway U19).
Midfielder Karabec has already joined up with his squad. The Czech U21 side met up today (Monday, 2nd June) for a five-day training camp to prepare for the U21 European Championship, which takes place in Slovakia from 8th to 28th June. Karabec and his teammates are in Group B, alongside England (12th June), Germany (15th June) and Slovenia (18th game). Rössing-Lelesiit is also set to play a major tournament this summer. The 18-year-old is currently keeping himself fit at former club Lilleström SK before the Norway U19 squad also hold a short training camp (from Saturday 7th June) to prepare for the U19 European Championship, to be played in Romania from 11th to 27th June. They are in a group with England, Germany and the Netherlands.

Pherai and Suriname to make their Gold Cup debut
Midfielder Immanuel Pherai (pictured) is also set to play in a major tournament this summer. He is in the Suriname squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States (14th June to 6th July). Suriname and the 24-year-old will play two World Cup qualifiers against Puerto Rico (6th June) and El Salvador (10th June) prior to the Gold Cup. The South Americans have qualified for the Gold Cup for the first time in their history, and will take on Costa Rica (16th June), Mexico (18th June) and Dominican Republic (22nd June) in their group. Pherai’s teammate Muro Muheim will be in America a week before him, playing two friendlies with Switzerland against Mexico (7th June, Salt Lake City) and the US (10th June, Nashville).
