Jatta: “It’ll be a totally different game”
HSV winger Bakery Jatta spoke about the Hamburg derby and the DFB-Pokal game against Hertha BSC ahead of the last-16 clash in Berlin on Wednesday.
The fixtures keep coming thick and fast for HSV, as they turn their sights to a last-16 clash with fellow Bundesliga 2 side Hertha BSC on Wednesday (20:45 CET) following their 2-2 draw in Friday’s Hamburg derby. The Rothosen will take between 15,000 and 20,000 fans to the capital in their quest to reach the quarter finals.
Bakery Jatta will be one of HSV’s key men on Wednesday after missing out on Friday’s derby due to a suspension. On Monday, he spoke to the media about balancing the two competitions and what he expects from the Pokal game on Monday. In the press conference, Bakery Jatta spoke in detail about...
...the Hamburg derby: It was a shame that I couldn’t help the team out due to my suspension. I think the boys played well in the second half and they had to battle to pick up another point. It says a lot about your mindset when you go 2-0 down and manage to get back on level terms.
..the upcoming DFB-Pokal round of 16 against Hertha BSC: We’re really looking forward to the game, as anything can happen in the Pokal. The goal is to get through to the next round. To achieve that, we’ll have to put in even more than 100 percent, and then we’ll see what else we can do in this competition.
...his opinion of the opposition: Rather than just reacting to Hertha’s style of play, we have to take charge and play our own game. Our fans will give us immense support again, which spurs us on in every game and will definitely give us the necessary push for the Pokal on Wednesday. We did manage to beat Hertha in the league, but I think that Wednesday will be a totally different game. We’re prepared for it.
