Leo Oppermann joins Bielefeld on loan
LEO OPPERMANN WILL BE MOVING TO ARMINIA BIELEFELD FOR THE 2023/24 SEASON. THE 21-YEAR OLD IS TO GET AS MUCH GAME TIME AS POSSIBLE.
HSV has loaned out Leo Oppemann to Arminia Bielefeld for the upcoming season. The goalkeeper will get as much professional playing time as possible at the side who were relegated from the second division last season. The 21-year-old came to the Volkspark from 1. FC Union Berlin in 2020, and last season was an integral part of the goalkeeping team in first-team training and made 34 appearances for the U21s in the Regionalliga as they finished the season strongly in second place.
Claus Costa, director of professional football, also pointed out, “Leo has not only trained strongly with our first team, but he has also had a lot of playing time with our U21s. We are convinced that the next important step in his development is to prove himself one league higher and gain experience. We will follow Leo’s performance closely and stay in close contact with him.”
