Match Preview vs Arminia Bielefeld
We are finally back home. A close sell out, as relegation fighters Arminia Bielefeld visit the Volksparkstadion on Sunday afternoon.
After the crazy 3-3 draw last weekend against 1. FC Heidenheim, HSV return to the home surface on Sunday afternoon. Hoping for perhaps a duller affair, on the opposition side, with Bielefeld the visitors on a stumbling run as of late. Arminia haven’t picked up full points at the Volksparkstadion in almost 20 years, and with the late comeback in Baden Württemberg, Tim Walter and his side will surely be fired up for this one. The first leg of this fixture ended in a fairly resounding HSV performance with Laszlo Benes’ wonder strike sealing a 2-0 victory at the Schüco-Arena

Our Opponents:
Arminia still haven’t quite managed to make things click since their return to the 2.Liga this year. A change of managers also didn’t give the side from Ostwestfahlen a way out of the bottom half of the table as the near closer to another Relegation fight. The side was competing in the Bundesliga only last year and in less than a year, they could be on the verge of another drop of divisions. Daniel Schnering came in to replace Uli Forte after a poor start to the season and consistency seems to be the new coaches biggest problem. Despite picking up a win against Relegation favourites Jahn Regensburg, defeats either side of this to SV Sandhausen and Hansa Rostock, haven’t quite helped the cause. The league is so tight that a win can shoot Schnering’s side as a high as 11th the table but hopefully that doesn’t come until after Sunday’s encounter.

HSV Round Up:
Back to the Volksparkstadion after two groundhopping visits without a defeat for Tim Walter and his team. Following on from the dramatic and chaotic 3-3 draw over 1. FC Heidenheim, HSV have been preparing themselves for the visit of Arminia Bielefeld. Tim Walter said to expect Sebastian Schonlau and Bakery Jatta to stay in the squad despite missing a few training sessions. Anssi Suhonen also made a comeback to training on Friday morning and could also be considered once again. “We'll give everything until the end, we must never be written off - we've shown that again recently and it gives us a lot of self-confidence for the weekend.” Tim Walter rounded of the Press Conference.

Match Facts:
Set Piece Specialists
Arminia Bielefeld sometimes find it difficult to score from outside the box, but the East Westphalians have recently been able to shine with an outstanding standard rate. In the last 6 games, 4 goals came from a resting ball. So the HSV has to be careful with corners and free kicks! However, this is also one of Hamburg's strengths, because no team in the league defends opposing standards as successfully as HSV, who have conceded only 2 goals in this way so far.
Goals
HSV is one of the strongest teams in the league and scores most of its goals. But: The Rothosen also scored the most goals from outside the penalty area in the league, a total of 6 times Glatzel & Co. struck from at least 16 metres away. The Bielefelders were often not so lucky with their finishes, 10 times of the post 3rd place in the league's bad luck table) speak for themselves.
Penalty Kick?
It is very unlikely that the referee will point to the spot between Hamburg and Bielefeld, as neither team has caused a single penalty kick in the entire season. What is more likely is that the referee will see an intense and emotional game between the 22 players, because with HSV (3) and Arminia (4) the two teams with the most sending-offs will meet. Here's to a good - and fair - game!
