Michael Papenfuß is new chairman of the supervisory board

Annual General Meeting of HSV Fußball AG elects five supervisory board members in addition to the delegated HSV President Marcell Jansen - seventh member to be named soon.

On Monday morning, the general meeting of HSV Fußball AG took place in the offices of the Volksparkstadion. All shareholders were represented and spoke out in favour of a joint orientation of HSV. Afterwards, important decisions were made regarding the composition of the supervisory board: In addition to the seconded President Marcell Jansen, Stephan von Bülow, Markus Frömming, Henrik Köncke, Michael Papenfuß and Dr. Hans-Walter Peters were elected to the supervisory body.

The seventh Supervisory Board position remains vacant for a short time. "We have a set process behind filling a seat on the supervisory board, which we will follow in accordance with our club's statutes," says Michael Papenfuß, who was elected as the new chairman of the supervisory board following the AGM. His predecessor, Marcell Jansen, had also voted in favour of this handover of chairmanship due to Papenfuß's professional aptitude for the issues relevant to the future. Markus Frömming was elected Deputy Chairman of the Board, the new Finance Committee is formed by Dr. Hans-Walter Peters (Chairman), Stephan von Bülow and Michael Papenfuß.

"I am very pleased that we were able to reach a consensus in consultation with the shareholders and after many differentiated, internal discussions," said Papenfuß: "It is good and important that we take a joint approach that focuses on the future of HSV Fußball AG and the interaction between the club and the other shareholders. We must be in the best possible position to tackle the thematic challenges of the coming months and years with the necessary expertise. And we now want to work together to ensure that the sporting area with the core goal of promotion is and remains the focus. We offer maximum backing for this."

Dr. Andreas C. Peters, who had recently been traded as a potential seventh council candidate and had signalled his support if needed, will remain with HSV in his advisory role in the legal form working group.
