HSV makes Warmed Omari move permanent
Hamburger SV has prematurely activated the buy option attached to the central defender’s loan deal at the club, with the 25-year-old committing his long-term future to the Rothosen.
There’s yet another exciting development for HSV at the close of the January transfer window: Warmed Omari, who moved to the Rothosen on loan from French first-division side Stade Rennais in the summer, has officially joined the club on a permanent deal. HSV has prematurely activated the option-to-buy clause agreed in the initial loan deal ahead of the season. “Despite being sidelined for a significant period with injury, Warmed has more than proven to us how much quality he can offer this side. He’s made hugely positive progress even in just a short time, and we want to help push him to become the best player he can over the coming years,” explained board member Eric Huwer.

Sporting director Claus Costa was also delighted at having secured the services of the 11-time Comoros international for the long run: “With the way he defends, courageously and with an eye to get forward, as well as his composure in the build-up, Warmed adds a real impetus to the way we play. His reading of the game and his incredible match intelligence have been clear to see for anyone watching across his time at the club so far. He’s a crucial part of this team, and for that reason, it was important to us to be clear on where we stand with Warmed at this early stage. We’re excited to see what we can achieve together.”
Comeback after 125 days out
The 25-year-old central defender, who has made seven appearances for HSV to date, was able to enjoy a comeback to the pitch in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against record champions FC Bayern München, having spent 125 days sidelined with injury. Now his focus shifts to the upcoming challenges in the Bundesliga and a long-term future in Hamburg. “I’m thrilled to be joining HSV on a permanent basis now. I feel really settled at the club and with this group of players and coaches. I felt a real sense of support and trust during my time out injured, which I know is not to be taken for granted. Now, I want to pay that back, and I’m really happy that I was able to get back out on the pitch on Saturday, and that I can keep playing my football here in the long term,” said Omari.
