HSV’s summer schedule for 2026/27
Performance diagnostics, training camps in Denmark and Austria, as well as domestic cup and Bundesliga openers – here’s our pre-season schedule at a glance.
In our first year of top-flight football since making a comeback to the division, Hamburger SV managed to achieve our goal of securing Bundesliga survival ahead of time and will now head into the 64th campaign since the league’s inception. With the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA (11th June to 19th July) taking up a large portion of this summer’s footballing calendar, the 2026/27 season is kicking off a little later than usual this year, with the first Bundesliga game taking place on 28th August. It will be a break of 104 days between the final day of the last campaign and the opening fixture of the upcoming season.
Training camps in Denmark and Austria
Pre-season preparations at HSV will first get underway with the obligatory performance diagnostics, scheduled to take place on 6th and 7th July. The team will then head up to Denmark for their first training camp, with the Rothosen lodging at the Marienlyst Strandhotel in Helsingör for the duration of their Nordic adventure. Pre-season training for 2026/27 will officially kick off on 8th July on the Danish coast. The first session back in the Volkspark is set for 13th July, before the group get ready for another journey one week later: from 19th to 25th July, HSV will hold their second training camp of the summer, this time in Oberlängenfeld, Austria. The Hotel Aqua Dome will host the visitors from the north.
When Hamburger SV make their return to the Hanseatic city, the next highlight will be right around the corner. The official season opening event, the beloved Volksparkfestival, is scheduled for 1st August. The Rothosen will finally return to competitive action with their DFB-Pokal first-round tie away at 3. Liga outfit SC Verl, bringing to an end a pre-season period of around seven weeks. This page will be updated on an ongoing basis as further friendly fixtures, competitive matches or training camp dates are announced.
