Nicolas Oliveira moves to Regensburg
The full-back joins third-division club SSV Jahn Regensburg after seven years at and five senior appearances for Hamburger SV.
Nicolas Oliveira has departed the Rothosen after seven years at the club, signing for third-division SSV Jahn Regensburg with immediate effect. “Nico has developed steadily over the past few years and has established himself as a regular member of our first team squad via his work in our U21s. However, considering where is most realistic for him to receive as much playing time as possible, we have come to the joint decision with Nico that a transfer is the most beneficial option for his development. We wish him the greatest success in Regensburg,” explained director of football Claus Costa.
From HSV U15 to Germany youth international
The 21-year-old, who was born in Spain, made the switch from Eimsbütteler TV to HSV’s youth set-up in the summer of 2018 and has featured at every age group since the U15s. Oliveira made 67 appearances for the U21s, scoring two goals and assisting a further seven. In the summer of 2023, Oliveira signed his first professional contract with the Rothosen. Since then, the right-back has made five Bundesliga 2 appearances, including for the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 win away to 1. FC Nürnberg in December 2023. “HSV and Hamburg have been my home. I have gained a lot in these eight years and will always hold positive memories from this period. I would like to thank all the coaches, staff and, above all, my fellow players and the fans for their support and wish HSV all the best in the Bundesliga,” said Oliveira on his departure. The right-footed player’s performances for the Rothosen earned him Germany call-ups at youth international levels, receiving caps with the U19s and U20s to date.
