"Simply consistent, consistently simple"
HSV coach Tim Walter talks about the personnel situation and his own approach to this top match in the press conference before the clash with SC Paderborn.
When Tim Walter was asked about the personnel situation in the press conference on Friday (28 October), he took a breath before starting to list the absences. There are several players who will not be available to the coach on Sunday (from 1.15 p.m. live on HSVnetradio) when HSV play second-placed SC Paderborn. How he will approach this match and how he assesses his own current situation were two of the topics the coach spoke about in the PK. Tim Walter on...
... the personnel situation: Robert Glatzel will be back at 100 percent by Sunday after his back problems. Elijah Krahn and Tom Mickel are out for the long term, Elijah has suffered a partial rupture of the medial ligament in his knee, Tom a torn medial ligament in his ankle. In addition, Tim Leibold, Ogi Heil and Omar Megeed are still in rehabilitation training after their injuries. And Bakery Jatta and Moritz Heyer are missing after tearing their ligaments, as is our suspended captain Sebastian Schonlau.
"We're creating a lot of goal-scoring chances, but we have to make better use of them"
... the top game: "Paderborn games are often spectacular. But we look at ourselves, we have to improve again, defend better again and sort out each other's mistakes. The confidence in us and our game is absolutely there, because we create a lot of chances to score, but we have to use them better. If we can do that, we can win against Paderborn. Whether it's 4:3 or 1:0 in our favour at the end, I don't care, we just want to win this game.
... our own approach: After our last games and results, it's important to take the basics to heart again. That means we simply have to be consistent - and consistently simple. That goes for tackling, offensive play and goal scoring. We have to simplify everything a bit, but be more consistent. Because against us, every opponent gives more than 100 per cent and we are the favourites in every game, so we need this consistency. And: be creative, have fun - then we have good chances.
