Tommy Doyle: Impact Goals and International Call Ups
Tommy Doyle has once again been rewarded with an International call up to the England U-21s as well as also bagging the HSV Goal of Month for October.
Our number eight has finally got himself into a rhythm since moving to Hamburg and found himself playing minutes, starting games and impressing the HSV faithful during the month of October.
We saw our first glimpses of what to expect from the young Englishman before the last international break when he made a brief substitute appearance against Erzgebirge Aue. Coming on to play a big part in the equaliser that day. Following that International break, Tommy began to break into the squad.

The Goal of the Month…
A late substitute appearance at the Benteler-Arena wrote what looks like the beginning of Tommy’s story in the Hanseatic City. 90+4 minutes on the clock, looking likely for the referee’s whistle to blow and announce the 1-1 draw when Tommy stepped up and smashed the ball from outside the box past the Paderborn goalkeeper and spark the eruption of the away following. The Goal of the Month October Winner and the chorus sang his name into the night as he put his name on the lips of the German footballing world.
Following this he was rewarded with a first start in the famous Rothosen during the DFB Pokal second round away to 1.FC Nürnberg. A confident performance in the middle of the park as our Englishman played 80 minutes of what would be a positive result in progressing to the Last 16 of the competition.

Another Call Up…
The youngster has well and truly earned another call up to the Young Lions squad with England. He will travel with the squad to feature in Euro U21 qualifiers against Czech Republic at Burnley’s Turf Moor (11th November) and then a trip to Georgia (16th November). Tommy Played the full 90 in the last Young Lion’s fixture in the 1-0 victory over Andorra.
A promising month for the youngster who has well and truly earned his rewards and recognition of Goal of the Month and his Countries call up. We hope this is only the beginning of his impressive run in the Rothosen.
Ludovit Reis has also earned his call up to the Jong Oranje and will be part of the Netherlands U21 games as well. The pair joining the already called up Faride Alidou (Germany), Anssi Suhonen & Juho Kilo (Finland) and Mario Vuskovic (Croatia).
