Training camp in Spain with friendly against RCD Mallorca
Head coach Merlin Polzin’s side will head to Mallorca for a second pre-season training camp shortly before the start of the 2025/26 season. They will also face RCD Mallorca in a friendly on 9th August.
As part of their preparations for the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, Hamburger SV have announced plans for a second training camp. The team will first spend 14th to 19th July at club partner adidas’ Homeground in Herzogenaurach, before travelling to Spain for a second training camp from 6th to 10th August. While in Mallorca, the team will also play a friendly against RCD Mallorca. “It’s important for us that we host another training camp towards the end of pre-season in order to be able to put on some finishing touches before the season gets underway, as well as spending more time with each other,” said Stefan Kuntz, HSV’s board member for sport.

“We deliberately chose Mallorca,” said Kuntz (l., pictured with HSV head coach Merlin Polzin during the team’s training camp in Mallorca earlier this year). “We know the facilities well from having been there in March of this year and we were able to lay the foundations for a successful end to the season.” The training sessions will all take place behind closed doors due to local ordinances, but fans will be able to attend the match against RCD Mallorca. “The game against RCD will be the perfect final test in order to ensure that we can start the season off right,” said Kuntz. The match will take place on 9th August at the Son Moix Stadium and will mark the end of HSV’s pre-season preparations. The team will then open the competitive season with the first round of the DFB-Pokal on the following weekend, before the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign gets underway on the weekend of 22nd to 24th August.
