ALL STARS FOR UKRAINE

Benefit event in aid of Ukraine in and around the Volksparkstadion Hamburg on 28 May 2022.

In a colourful programme, football fans and families are invited to send a message for peace and solidarity with the people in Ukraine. The centrepiece of the event is the football match between the DFB All-Stars and Team Hamburg & the World with HSV legends and other celebrities. The match will be accompanied by other highlights from the fields of music and entertainment. Norddeutscher Rundfunk will broadcast the event live on TV from 12 to 2 pm.

The benefit event is a campaign of the DFB All-Stars, who are organised under the umbrella of the DFB Foundation Sepp Herberger, the HSV and the #WeAreAllUkrainians initiative of Dr. Wladimir Klitschko and Tatjana Kiel. The big charity event is supported by the Pact for Solidarity and Future between Kyiv and Hamburg. Hamburg's First Mayor Dr Peter Tschentscher and Dr Wladimir Klitschko are patrons of the event.

Former HSV greats such as Marcell Jansen, Piotr Trochowski, Christian Rahn, Thomas Gravesen, Stig Töfting, Harald Spörl, Bastian Reinhardt and former national players such as Thomas Helmer, Timo Hildebrand, Patrick Owomoyela, Christian Träsch, Patrick Helmes and DFB players such as Navina Omilade, Conny Pohlers, Miriam Scheib, Jennifer Meier and Ursula Holl will be kicking for peace and solidarity. Horst Hrubesch, who has coached both the U 21 national team, HSV and the German women's national team, is looking forward to his task on match day.

Bundesliga referee Patrick Ittrich will be in charge of one half of the match together with Celina Böhm and Sascha Thielert on the lines, the other half will be taken over by Ukrainian referee Denys Shurman, who has fled to Hamburg. Christina Rann and Christian Stübinger will support the match as stadium announcers. The team line-ups as well as the supporting programme will be strengthened by further prominent players in the coming weeks.

Tickets are available at allstarsforukraine.reservix.de. Adults pay 10 €, children pay 5 €.

Numerous offers in the supporting programme provide the opportunity to donate or make a contribution to aid measures for Ukraine that are coordinated via #WeAreAllUkrainians.

Donations can also be made via Germany's largest donation platform  benefizspiel.betterplace.org

Betterplace enables secure, quick and easy donations for all those who want to support.

Hanseatic Help, in cooperation with Hamburger Hochbahn AG, is collecting sleeping bags, woollen and fleece blankets directly at the stadium, which will be taken to Kyiv as part of the "Pact for Solidarity and the Future".

"We are happy to get involved with the #WeAreAllUkrainians initiative with full conviction, which helps affected people directly in the war zone," says Jonas Boldt, board member of the organiser and co-initiator HSV: "Together with our club, the DFB Foundation Sepp Herberger and the sports city of Hamburg, we want to send a loud signal for peace and for the people from and in Ukraine."

Wladimir Klitschko reported from Kyiv: "With the right teammates in the team, you have a great chance of winning. The city of Hamburg, HSV, the DFB Foundation Sepp Herberger and #WeAreAllUkrainians are now bringing the ultimate reinforcement to the team with this benefit event for the whole family: everyone who wants to set an example for peace and solidarity. I am really happy about the help from my old adopted country. We are fighting for survival in Ukraine, for a future in freedom. Thank you for your donations, for your hospitality and your compassion for the refugees. Please continue to help us! Thank you, Hamburg!"

Background information

The #WeAreAllUkrainians initiative, launched by Dr. Wladimir Klitschko and his long-time business partner Tatjana Kiel immediately after the war began, is developing scalable relief efforts that respond to the most urgent needs on the ground, as reported by Wladimir Klitschko from Kyiv. One of the initiative's five task forces has already been coordinating large donations of urgently needed relief supplies and their transport to Ukraine since early March. Hamburg and Kyiv have signed a "Pact for Solidarity and the Future". They want to establish a strategic partnership between their cities and support each other in times of crisis. In view of the humanitarian catastrophe resulting from Russia's attacks, which violate international law, Hamburg's initial focus is on supporting Kyiv. The pact and the humanitarian aid will be implemented with the support of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and in cooperation with the #WeAreAllUkrainians initiative and the Hanseatic Help association.
