"Very self-critical, but also very self-confident".
In the press conference before the home match against 1. FC Nürberg, HSV coach Tim Walter spoke about the opponent and the current state of his team.
For Dieter Hecking, it will be a reunion with many familiar faces on Saturday when the former HSV coach returns to Volkspark. He does so for the first time as a coach after taking over this post at his 1. FC Nürnberg in February. HSV coach Tim Walter is looking forward to the meeting, as he reported at the press conference on Thursday (2 March). In addition, Tim Walter spoke about...
Bakery Jatta's absence from training: "Baka was fine the whole time, but today he complained of pain in his foot. But there is nothing clinically visible, so we are confident that it is not that bad. Let's wait for tomorrow and see if Baka can play again.
... the current form of his team: Developments never run in a linear fashion, but always in curves. Maybe we're just catching our breath and then we'll reach the highest peak. We are very self-critical, but also very self-confident. That's why we are on a very high level overall and swimming on a good wave.
... 1. FC Nuremberg: I expect the opponents to be a bit deeper and then to be successful by switching quickly. But they will also have phases in their game where they stand higher up. We'll have to wait and see to what extent Dieter Hecking's signature will be recognisable.
... the return of Dieter Hecking to Hamburg: For me, Dieter is a very valued colleague with whom I have a good relationship and for whom it will certainly be a special game, because he had a great time in Hamburg. Nevertheless, he will arrive with the aim of taking something with him. And we want to prevent that.
