Walter "This is all we can influence".
In the press conference before the away game at SV Sandhausen, HSV coach Tim Walter spoke about the clear starting position and his optimistic mindset for the regular season finale.
It only lasted around nine minutes, the last regular matchday press conference of 2022/23 at the Volksparkstadion. Ahead of the away game at SV Sandhausen (28 May, from 3.15 p.m. on HSVnetradio), HSV head coach Tim Walter spoke briefly and compactly about the conceivably simple starting position: a win of his own with a simultaneous slip-up by 1. FC Heidenheim would mean direct promotion, while a success by the Brenzstadt team would pave the way for relegation. The coach explained in his usual manner on Thursday afternoon with which mindset he wants to approach the game at the Hardtwald and to what extent he has the parallel game in Regensburg in mind. Tim Walter spoke to the media representatives about...
... the upcoming opponent: "Regardless of the opponent, we will arrive with great anticipation and energy. It is certainly not easy for Sandhausen, as they have already been relegated. Apart from that, they play very committed football and are very tough, especially when playing against the ball. From that point of view, we have to bring our best performance on the pitch."
"The boys are full of confidence"
... the mindset in the final spurt: "We have secured third place, direct promotion is still possible. That's why we can play freely. The boys are full of confidence. We have to deliver and win our game. That is what we can influence. The game on the other pitch is not interesting for now, we can look at the result after the final whistle."
... the role of Ransford Königsdörffer: "He has to be constant, also in his training performances. In concrete terms, that means always pushing the limits. He is still a young player, he can definitely learn more in this area. Overall, however, I am very satisfied with his development. In his first season at HSV he scored eight goals, which is very special."
