Heyer: "We have this spirit in the team".
In the brand new episode of the HSV podcast "Pur der HSV" (Pure HSV), defensive specialist Moritz Heyer talks about the development, mood and mentality of the team, among other things.
Moritz Heyer is once again one of the mainstays of the HSV team in this 2021/22 season: After 32 appearances in his debut season, the two-footed defensive specialist has played 31 second division games before the season finale at F.C. Hansa Rostock on Sunday (live on HSVnetradio from 3.15 p.m.) and has once again lived up to his reputation as Mr. Reliable in all defensive positions. What's more, with six goals and three assists, the 27-year-old, whose contract was recently prematurely extended by three more years until the summer of 2026, has also been a regular contributor on the offensive. As the third-best scorer in the HSV team, the native of Ostercappeln has thus equalled his personal best in goals from his first second league season with VfL Osnabrück. And the tireless "Mo" is not finished yet, looking forward to the eagerly awaited season finale, as he explains in today's newly released episode of the HSV podcast "Pur der HSV". In the 90-minute conversation, which primarily deals with Heyer's sporting and personal career, the number 3 of the Reds also takes a look at current events and talks, among other things, about...

... the development of the team: The coach's idea of the game is very good and a lot of fun. We as a team are behind it and always want to develop further. We have already shown this season that we can achieve great results when all the factors fit. Of course, there were also moments when that was not the case and then it became difficult to leave the pitch as winners. But then it was mostly down to us and our own performance.
... the atmosphere within the team: We really have a very good atmosphere in the team. Everyone gets along with each other. That is not a matter of course. Of course there are disagreements and arguments on the pitch, but that's part of the game if you want to get better. Then you have to be able to tell each other what you think. But at the end of the day, every player wants to develop and everyone runs for the other. That's what makes us so strong.
... the upcoming season finale: After the defeat in Kiel, not many people believed that we would be where we are now. During this time, we have shown that we can stand together and stay with each other. You should never say that you can't do it anymore. That is the most important thing. If you don't believe in it, you can't make it. We have this spirit in the team. You can see that on the pitch and we've been doing that really well throughout the season. We're going into the season finale with this mindset.
