HSV beat Rotenburger SV 6-0 in friendly

On Wednesday evening (18.05.16), the Rothosen beat local side Rotenburger SV 6-0 in a friendly game. The men on target were Diekmeier (21.), P. Müller (26.), Gregoritsch (32.), Altintas (44.), Rudnevs (61.) and Bahoui (76.).

HSV beat local outfit Rotenburger SV 6-0 in a friendly watched by a crowd of 3,000 on Wednesday evening. Also present was Hamburg-born DFB (German FA) boss Reinhard Grindel. The goal glut began as right back Dennis Diekmeier netted on 21 minutes. He has never scored in the Bundesliga though (!). The defender who is HSV’s longest serving player had to go off injured during the recent 5-0 friendly win in Celle, but was fit enough to play again on Wednesday evening to lead the team out as captain. Further goals followed through Philipp Müller (25.), Michael Gregoritsch (32.) and Batuhan Altintas (44.) to make the half time score line 4-0 to the visitors.

All change for second half

HSV boss Bruno Labbadia completely changed his team for the second half and used the final member of the squad by bringing on Dominik Jordan (68.). Although in keeper Tom Mickel, winger Nabil Bahoui and striker Artjoms Rudnevs there were three men with Bundesliga experience in the team it took a little time for them to settle down. Rudnevs made it 5-0 on 61 minutes, while Nabil Bahoui scored the final goal of the game on 76 minutes. It was the fist goal in a HSV shirt for the Swede. Fans then took centre stage after full time as the Rothosen took time for autographs and of course the obligatory selfies.

Co. Trainer Eddy Sozer told us after the game: "It is nice to play in front of such crowds in friendly games and we very much look forward to the next ones in Cuxhaven and Wismar." The game was under the motto of no longer with us HSV cult masseur Hermann Rieger. A part of the proceeds from the game were donated to the "Hospiz zwischen Elbe und Weser" in Bremervörde, for which Rieger was an ambassador.
