HSV internationals end season successfully
The last international match of the season ended victoriously for the U21 internationals of the Rothosen, who can now look forward to their summer break.
Mario Vuskovic could not have imagined a much better farewell to the 2021/22 season. With his Croatian U21 national team, he not only won the last match of the season against Estonia on Wednesday (8 June), but also scored the winning goal in the 4-0 victory. After just a quarter of an hour, he had headed home from a standard situation to make it 2-0 in the meantime. The centre-back is the last HSV professional to take his leave for the summer break, which will last a few days longer for him and Josha Vagnoman than for the other players.
Vagnoman - together with Faride Alidou, who will play for Eintracht Frankfurt from the coming season - was also on duty with his U21 national team after the end of the season. Vagnoman again played the full 90 minutes for the German team in their last match against Poland on Tuesday (7 June) and played his part in the 2-1 victory, which rounded off the immensely strong performances of the German U21s of late. The DFB team, which had already qualified for the European Championship finals, finished the qualifying round in Group B in undisputed first place with an impressive 27 points from ten matches - and has now well and truly earned its summer break.
