"It gives my team security and support".
On Sunday, HSV won 3:0 against FC Ingolstadt at the Volksparkstadion. Everyone was in agreeance that it was a well deserved and commanding victory. The Voice's from the game.
HSV coach Tim Walter quickly gave a flaming speech in the team circle before sending his boys off to the fans on Sunday afternoon (28 November), where they were allowed to pick up the well-deserved reward for another good performance after the 3-0 home victory over FC Ingolstadt. Second win in a row, 7:1 goals in the last two home games and another great atmosphere in the Volksparkstadion - the HSV Sunday ended with a lot of good humour and fully satisfied everyone involved. And so, after celebrating with their players, the fans headed home slightly chilled but warm-hearted, while the Walter men made their way towards the dressing room and took a brief position on the sixth win of the season. The Voice's from the game.
Moritz Heyer: We have certainly shown better games, but we won 3:0 and this victory is also deserved. However, we found it a bit difficult to get into the game and, as always, we tried to find a playful solution, but it was a bit more difficult than usual. Nevertheless, we had numerous chances, and we could have used one or two of them even better, then the result would have been even clearer. But we played to nil, which of course makes us very happy, because we finally wanted to show that we can do that. So, all in all, we can be satisfied with today's game.
"It was my first clean sheet. I am very happy about that.."Marko Johansson
Marko Johansson: It was a tough game for us in the beginning. Ingolstadt defended man-to-man. We had to keep 100 per cent focus. It wasn't an easy game for me either, also because I didn't get much to do in the first half. You have to stay focused until the end. In the end, we deserved to win. It was my first game to nil. I am very happy about that. I hope there will be more.
Tim Walter: Today we saw an opponent who acted differently. It has often been the case that the opponent thinks things through. Ingolstadt defended us 1:1 all over the pitch. We didn't quite cope with that at the beginning of the game. We then took the lead through a good move by Faride, brought more speed into the game and were able to add to it through a standard situation. After half-time, we needed a third goal, but we missed it. Ingolstadt became more courageous. We let ourselves get infected. We should have sealed the deal earlier. We deserved to win, we did a few things well and we can still improve on some of them.
On the 12-game unbeaten streak: We realise that a lot has to happen for us to be beaten. The series gives my team a sense of security and support. That certainly does something subconsciously.
Andre Schubert: It was certainly a deserved victory. What we didn't like at all was the way we played in the first half. We were far too cautious, passive and timid. We couldn't assert ourselves up front and we weren't aggressive enough at the back. As a result, HSV had many chances and deserved to lead. In the second half, we got into the game better, won the ball well and created chances to score. If we score the next goal in that phase, then maybe something will happen in a game like that. Unfortunately, we didn't make use of the opportunities. In this respect, Hamburg's victory is of course okay.
