"Pressure is a privilege"
After the international break, HSV starts the final spurt with a double home match. The focus for Tim Walter, however, is of course the Paderborn game, as he emphasised in the press conference.
Tim Walter made a relaxed and easy-going impression and joked with the journalists, but at the same time made it very clear: "Now is the time! On Saturday, SC Paderborn will come to the Volkspark and in the press conference before this game, the coach made it clear that the team's entire focus is on these 90 minutes. Everything that comes after that will be ignored for the moment so that the points account can be increased on Saturday at 1.30 pm (live on HSVnetradio) and the team will then be well prepared for the final spurt of the season - which starts on Tuesday with the make-up game against FC Erzgebirge Aue. But until then, only SC Paderborn counts. In his press conference on Thursday afternoon, the coach explained how Walter assesses the opponents and how he sees his team after only two points from four games. In the press conference, Tim Walter spoke about...
... the current situation: "All the national team players are back and ready to go, and the team has done a great job. The boys understand that it's all about the team, about cohesion. The team is following this path, so we are in very good spirits for April with its seven games and also for the rest of the season. We can deal with the increasing pressure of the end of the season, because pressure is a privilege. Only those who are in the position to be able to achieve things have the pressure, which we have thus worked hard for. But: Before we look at April with all its games or even Tuesday with the catch-up game, for us it's only about Saturday and SC Paderborn. Everything else doesn't interest us yet.
"We want to bring more presence, more conviction and more positive energy onto the pitch again."
... the current game: We didn't play a good game against Düsseldorf recently. That's why we want to bring more presence, more conviction and more positive energy onto the pitch than last time. We have worked on all of this during the international break, we are physically at a top level and we are going into this game with a broad chest, where we are especially looking forward to the spectators. It's great that so many fans can be there again and experience the game under normal conditions, which we can of course also draw on.
... the current opponents: SC Paderborn has a very good team, full of good individualists. They also showed in the second half of the season that they didn't just consist of Sven Michel, but have many good players with whom they can stand up to any opponent. They will do the same against us, perhaps with a special approach, as in the first leg. But we are prepared for all eventualities. And: The most important thing for us is to stay with ourselves and look to ourselves.
