Stadium organisation: Changes for the 2G home match against Kiel

Hamburger SV is optimising the organisational process in and around the Volksparkstadion for the match against the Störche on Saturday, especially against the background of the implementation as a 2G home match. Here is an overview of all the improvements.

The home game against Fortuna Düsseldorf (16 October, 1:1) was the first HSV home game to take place under 2G conditions in the Volksparkstadion. A completely new experience for stadium visitors, but also for the club itself with many new regulations and previously unknown procedures.

In the aftermath of the match, Hamburger SV also dealt intensively with organisational issues relating to the new stadium experience and has already initiated measures for an improved process in the stadium for the upcoming home match against Holstein Kiel (30 October, kick-off: 8.30 p.m.). In addition to observations by the club, its service providers and the Hamburg authorities, more than 4,500 survey results from stadium visitors at the Düsseldorf match were used for the evaluation.

An overview of the concrete changes for the Kiel home game and what is currently being worked on can be found here:

ADMISSION SITUATION

Due to the necessary checks (2G and ID checks as well as body checks), there were sometimes longer waiting times at the stadium entrance at the Düsseldorf home game, especially at the gates of the north stand. Against Kiel, this is to be improved by the following measures:

  • All stadium entrances usable again: The admission zones noted on the tickets are only valid as a recommendation from now on. This means that all stadium guests can once again use all stadium entrances. In particular, we recommend that fans in the north stand and guests with the previous admission zones 7 and 8 check the less frequented areas in the south as an access alternative for themselves.
  • Early arrival and admission to the Volksparkstadion: The admission time slots printed on the tickets are not binding as of now. Instead, we recommend early entry to the stadium. Experience has shown that longer waiting times can be expected after 7.30 pm.
  •  2G check with mobile teams: At the home game against the Störche, more mobile teams will be on the road in front of the stadium entrances to check visitors' 2G proof. The more fans have the 2G check carried out by the mobile teams, the better waiting times at the entrance can be avoided.
  • Masks are not compulsory until the stadium: We would like to point out once again that masks are not compulsory until after the turnstile in the stadium. Masks are compulsory before the Volksparkstadion, at the 2G check, in the queue and at the security check.
  • Normal security check: The body checks at the stadium entrance will again be carried out facing the steward.

WAITING TIMES AT THE CATERING STANDS

At the last home game, long queues formed in front of the kiosks, especially in the North Stand. To counteract this, we will open more kiosks and mobile catering stands on Saturday, especially in the north of the stadium between the A and B stands.

Important: We still expect waiting times at our catering stands. Especially from 7.45 p.m., during the first half and in the half-time interval. Due to the worldwide supply bottlenecks of microchips, EC payment is not yet possible again at all stalls.

    TRAVEL BY HVV

Some stadium visitors have reported long waiting times for departures by HVV, especially at the Eidelstedt S-Bahn station. The following measures will be implemented for the home match against the Störche:

    • Bus line 22 will be reinforced: Special buses will be used on the route Hellgrundweg -> Hagenbeckstraße.
    • Use of special trains in clarification: The HVV is examining the use of additional special trains or, alternatively, an increase in the frequency of the suburban trains in the direction of Pinneberg and the city centre.
    • S Stellingen as a recommendation: If you want to walk to the S-Bahn station, we recommend that you go to the S-Bahn station Stellingen. The station is designed for more people, and the entrance and stairs in particular are more spacious than at the Eidelstedt S-Bahn station.
    •  More service and security staff: To better organise the flow of visitors, the number of service and security staff at the S-Bahn stations will be increased.

    REUSABLE CUP

At the start of the current season, we introduced a reusable cup system in the Volksparkstadion in the spirit of ecological sustainability. We are pleased that many HS players have responded positively to this innovation and are all the more annoyed about those who threw the new cups towards the edge of the pitch at the Düsseldorf game, but also within various blocks.

People can be seriously injured by the cups. For this reason, the security service has been made more aware of the throwing of cups and will intervene strictly. Please note that identified cup throwers will be banned from the premises and that HSV can pass on fines imposed by the association to cup throwers on a 1:1 basis.

We ask all fans to support us in our efforts to avoid plastic waste and to conserve resources. If you want to do something good twice with your cup, you can throw it into the collection bins of the HSV Foundation "Der Hamburger Weg" at the exits of the stadium after the match.

We are looking forward to the second home match in a row with more than 35,000 spectators in the Volksparkstadion and hope for an improved process thanks to the organisational innovations. Those who still want to be present at the northern duel can still secure tickets online via the HSV ticket shop at short notice. Up to eight tickets per person can be booked. Important note: There is no box office at the stadium.
