When the floodlights go on and the whistle blows at 8.30pm on Saturday, we can look forward to a football festival. Volkspark, floodlights, two traditional clubs and top teams in the league - what more could you want?! "Three points," says HSV coach Tim Walter, who assessed the opponent at the press conference before the duel against Fortuna Düsseldorf, but put the main focus on his own team and on the expected record crowd of this season at the home Volksparkstadion. Tim Walter spoke about...
... the opponents Fortuna Düsseldorf: "Düsseldorf are a very intense team that is extremely active offensively. It's not for nothing that they have the most crosses of all 2.Bundesliga teams and also have the most shots on goal in the league. In addition, Fortuna has a team with a lot of experience, which naturally wants to take something here. But we will try to play our game despite the opponent's qualities.
"HSV home games should be fun and a real event."
... our own style of play: We will play and act forward as always. We want to create lots of chances, stress the opponent and, of course, continue to allow little on the other side. Basically, everything will be the same as in many previous games, although it has to be said that the statistics don't lie in the end. And that means that we have only lost once this season, but we have also won too rarely. But it's very positive that the team always wants to win, always gives everything until the end, and that's how we got some important points at the back. I am very satisfied with the will and the enthusiasm of my team. Now and then, we still lack effectiveness or the necessary luck, but we work hard and make progress. And that's what it's all about.
... the stadium experience on Saturday: We are looking forward to the many spectators, the backdrop will be impressive for some of my players, as they have never experienced such a crowd here in the Volksparkstadion this season or last season. I myself haven't experienced it like this as an HSV coach. But I am convinced that the fans and their support will inspire us and that we can manage to bring the spectators with us again. That's what we're hoping for, because HSV home games should be fun and a real event, and that's what we're giving everything for. And of course we are happy that the fans are accepting our football more and more. That's why we're all feeling a huge sense of anticipation for Saturday night.
