Training Camp

Tim Walter: "We have more choice again".
On the second day of the winter training camp, HSV head coach Tim Walter spoke about his first impressions and, in a media round, mainly addressed the personnel plans.
He is in his element on the pitch. Tim Walter coaches, corrects and criticises without ceasing in Sotogrande and works with his protégés in his usual intensity on their form for the rest of the second half of the season. The 46-year-old is particularly pleased with the large number of personnel options, as he explained in a media round on the sidelines of the second day of training camp. The HSV head coach explained in his usual lively manner exactly what the status of the convalescents is, what influence they have on the starting eleven plans and why the conditions in Andalusia are optimal.
The coach spoke in detail about...
... the convalescents: The boys should be brought closer and closer to team training, but not yet fight any duels. Stephan Ambrosius will have to wait a little longer, but we want to put Maximilian Rohr under full strain this week. The situation is different for Josha Vagnoman, who is not yet ready.
... the starting eleven plans: There's always a chance of a change, that's where the training impressions count for me. With the return of the injured players, we have more choice, and Bakery Jatta, who still has no symptoms, is also completing his programme in Hamburg. It's an open battle on many positions.
... the conditions on site:The pitches at the Polo Club are super, the hotel is also outstanding. The players can move freely in their bubble and are still well screened. We will also move all activities to the course in the coming days and will not organise anything outside for Corona reasons. There are golf and paddle tennis courts, they offer us nice opportunities.
