"We were not consistent enough today."
The Rothosen draw for the first time this season. The team though were not satisfied with their own performance.
HSV started the top match of the 11th matchday like a top team in front of 57,000 spectators in the sold-out Volksparkstadion on Saturday (8 October). With the first chance, top scorer Robert Glatzel gave his colours a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, it remained the only noteworthy opportunity for the rothosen in the first half, who created far more chances in the second half and missed the biggest one to finally put the lid on it with the penalty kick in the 81st minute (Kittel failed to beat Luthe), but overall the final consistency from the last few weeks was missing on this day. And so the HSV pros judged the draw, which FCK deserved thanks to the goal of substitute Lobinger (82nd), as fair in the end and were rather disappointed with their own performance. Quotes from the game.
Sebastian Schonlau: Expectations were naturally high after five wins in a row. Nevertheless, you have to keep your feet on the ground. In the end, it was a point today. All in all, it might have been deserved, but if we score the 2-0 goal, we're done for. If we don't, we at least have to defend at the back. We didn't manage that today. We have to blame ourselves for that.
Robert Glatzel: We didn't deserve to win today. Lautern, on the other hand, clearly deserved the point. Even though we had a great chance in the second half to put the lid on it, overall it was a fair draw. We can't be satisfied with our performance. Lautern were compact and had good counterattacks. On the other hand, we couldn't implement our match plan well. We didn't create enough chances, especially in the first half, we didn't go into one-on-one situations, we crossed too much and didn't have enough courage.
"I'm dissatisfied to the max today" - Tim Walter
Matheo Raab: Only football writes stories like that, that I'm playing against my old club today of all days. That was something special. I tried to ignore it and prepare as I always do. When the first actions go well, it always gives you self-confidence. Of course I'm disappointed that we didn't win. But I think I can be satisfied with my performance.
Tim Walter: I'm not satisfied at all today. That is too little for us. We knew that the opponent was deep and that we had to play it faster. In the first half, we let the opponent get the better of us a bit, then you come out and do the opponent a favour yourself before their chances. We were lucky there. You have to score the second goal. If you don't, the game stays open. We made too many mistakes with and without the ball. Lautern took advantage of it and did well. We weren't consistent enough today. That's why it's too little.
Dirk Schuster:We already knew what was waiting for us here today. That's why we made some tactical changes. We were able to prevent the deep balls into the half-areas. I think we were in the game from the first minute and played in a very disciplined manner. We had a few good chances and then fell behind very unluckily. After the break, we came right back into the game well with Terrence's 1:1 situation, but unfortunately we couldn't take advantage of that. We were then a bit lucky that HSV didn't put the lid on it. But the team was rewarded for the one point.
