Four players return to the Volkspark ahead of pre-season preparations
While the official commencement of pre-season preparations in the lead up to the 2025/26 Bundesliga season is still a few days away, a total of four members of the Rothosen squad returned to the training pitches at the Volkspark today.
The start of the new campaign, following last term’s success which ensured HSV’s Bundesliga comeback after seven years away, is still five days off. At that point, medical and performance tests will be carried out, along with the opening training sessions of pre-season. However, there were already five figures kitted out in HSV gear on the pitches next to the Volksparkstadion on Wednesday (25th June), doing running exercises with and without the ball at various intensities.
In addition to athletics coach Jan Hasenkamp, Robert Glatzel, Bakery Jatta, Noah Katterbach and Aboubakar Soumahoro also arrived at the Volkspark to begin pre-season work on fitness, taking strain and movement sequences following each of their respective lengthy injury absences. All four HSV players want to get off to the best possible start when preparations officially begin on Monday, 30th June.
