"It was a mature performance"
HSV took three points from the Bielefeld Alm and won their second away match of the season. The comments on the game were correspondingly positive.
A consistently positive and dominant HSV performance in Bielefeld was rewarded on Saturday (13 August) with the second away win and points seven to nine of the current season. Ransford Königsdörffer and Laszlo Benes were on the scoresheet in HSV's 2-0 win at Arminia Bielefeld. Once again, however, it was the well-rehearsed collective that impressed, as the Hamburg team stated in the mixed zone of the SchücoArena after the game. HSV.de presents the comments on the game.
Ransford Königsdörffer: After my brace in the DFB Cup, I said that I wanted to follow suit in the league. The fact that I managed to do that in conjunction with a win makes today all the nicer. We played very well in the first half. In the second half, we stumbled a bit, but then played it out successfully. The team received me really well as a newcomer. Everything is going well for me at the moment.
Daniel Heuer Fernandes: We started the game very well. We had a lot of control and played the opponent. It was exactly what we wanted: a lot of energy, intensity and control. It was a mature performance. We are happy that we could keep the nil again. For me as a keeper, my job is to be there in the decisive moments. At the end of the day, I'm always in the game because I'm also involved a lot with the ball. What we lacked a bit was the punch up front. We lacked the last consistency, the last pass. Laci's dream goal was an important liberating blow.
Sebastian Schonlau: We started well, which was very important considering the temperatures. We had a lot of possession, ran the ball well and were present in the duels. Those were the keys to success, especially in the first half. In the second half, we had a phase where we didn't do well. We let the opponent into the game. In the end, Laci's goal was very important and came at the right moment.
Laszlo Benes: I am very happy that we won and brought home the three points. It was very important that we scored the second goal, because a 1-0 lead is always treacherous. In the last home game we didn't score the second goal and had to tremble until the end. My girlfriend Victoria and I are expecting a baby. So I dedicated the goal to them with my thumb cheer.
"As a group, we defended well except for the last ten minutes and deserved to win in the end." Tim Walter
Tim Walter: "We came out very dominant and confident. Especially in the first half, we created a lot of scoring chances and took the pressure off our opponents. Unfortunately, we only scored one goal before the break. In the second half, the opponent switched and defended us one-on-one. If you don't score the second goal and the opponent always has a spark of hope, then it remains dangerous. As a team, we defended well except for the last ten minutes and in the end we deserved to win.
Uli Forte: We didn't show enough initiative in the first half. It's a common thread in our games. We let ourselves in for the first goal. If HSV already has a lot of possession, we don't have to invite them. In the second half, we changed things up and also had chances to score, the best being through Jäkel, which Heuer Fernandes saved very well. We have to pull ourselves up by the little things and get out of this situation now.
