Hamburg clubs make joint statement

The three professional sports clubs in Hamburg have come together to make a joint statement. Despite positive signals from the authorities in Hamburg, HSV, St. Pauli and basketball team Hamburg Towers have agreed to forego team training for the foreseeable future.

In a joint letter to Hamburg’s internal affairs and sport authorities, the three clubs thanked the relevant parties for their efforts to gain a special exemption so that the professional sides could continue to train despite the coronavirus outbreak. At the same time, the clubs hope that these exemptions will be handed out in the future, as the current restrictions on professional athletes and the employees who work with them cannot hold in the long term.
