Walter: "We're throwing everything in!"
In the press conference before the away match at 1. FC Heidenheim, HSV coach Tim Walter spoke about the personnel situation, his expectations for the top match at the Brenz and the case of Mario Vuskovic.
Second in the table vs third in the table - the top match of the 20th second division matchday between Hamburger SV and 1. FC Heidenheim (live on HSVnetradio from 8.15 p.m.) will not only live up to its name in terms of the table situation. In addition, the best home team (23 points) receives the best away team (21 points) in the league and also historically, the two clubs have always delivered special duels in the past second division years. Accordingly, HSV head coach Tim Walter had a lot to talk about at today's press conference, and he also provided information on a number of non-sporting topics.
The 47-year-old spoke in detail about ...
... the personnel situation: "First we have the medical round, where we will talk about a few things. Apart from Jonas David and Jonas Meffert, we also have players in the squad who can step in. For the six-man position, we could spread it over several shoulders - Ludovit Reis, Laszlo Benes, maybe Sebastian Schonlau in midfield. We are happy that we are broadly positioned overall.
... the game in Heidenheim: We have an important game that we will approach with maximum professionalism. Because that's our job. We are all professional athletes and our whole focus is on the next game. The boys have shown that they can handle stressful situations. It's a tough course, because Heidenheim is very strong at home. But we are also strong away from home and so confident that we want to win there. We'll throw everything in!
... the Vuskovic case: Independently of HSV, there has never been anything like this before. The matter is now going into extra time, which raises even more questions. There are justified doubts. If everything were so clear, a verdict would have been reached long ago. This is also a difficult case, but basically we stand by Mario. He is my player, he is our player. We are doing everything to ensure that the right thing is decided and that the truth comes to light.
... Jean-Luc Dompe: It was a mistake. The player admitted that. It was his idea to face the press as well. Before that, he did the same with the team. Our Board of Directors made it unmistakably clear that this was an offence which we would sanction severely. What we can regulate internally, we have regulated. Everything else must be decided by the courts. If Jean-Luc qualifies for the weekend, then he can play.
